At age seventeen, Dustin Ward purchased his first race car with the help of his father Rusty. It was the beginning of an adventure that continued into the next two decades. Buying, selling and building race cars. Dustin would do anything he could to go racing as much as he could. It was a passion. A romance. And it was fostered by his father, uncles and family friend Wayne "Bimbo" Buchs. These men were Dustin's heroes along with his longtime shop neighbor and idol, Dave "Lightning" Hatton.

In February of 2020, Dustin suffered a heart attack at age 41. He'd been living his life wide open and needed to throttle back. It was an experience he never expected to have, but one that helped him find renewed purpose. His new wife Becky became a significant influence on his life and his health. Having her by his side along with his step children has given him new inspiration in life and on the track.

Dustin has never considered himself a great race car driver. He's kinda rough around the edges. It's either all gas or all brake. He's an adrenaline junkie and craves speed. Racing is a romance for Dustin and he has a recipe for love. Guided by his heroes, Dustin's heart is steeped in the short track racing scene with a passion for speed, life and his new wife Becky. He believes that if you the best you can with what you have, nobody can ask any more out of you.
