Krahn Performance Racing

The sounds of an idling Harley-Davidson motorcycle stirred Jim Krahn’s young soul. He dove deep into the world of drag racing learning everything he could about engines, how to build them, how to tune them. Years of study grew into a lifetime dedication to horsepower. 

Jim Krahn lives his dream. He wrote a term paper in high school about owning a speed shop and for over 40 years he has done just that. His quest for horsepower and peak performance led him to create Krahn Performance Racing (KPR) in 1994. Jim is a masterful race car mechanic in the summer and snowmobile sorcerer in the winter. Ever seeking speed.

Life is competitive for Jim and winning is everything. He has seen the highs and lows of auto racing and his drive to win propels him forward. Jim has amassed countless victories and several championships working with drivers Butch Behrendt, Craig Priewe, Jay Schraufnagel and his son Jesse, among others. Jim’s late mentor and friend Denny Baye shared his passion to race “eight days” a week. That commitment to competition and never quitting is what has defined Jim Krahn’s legacy as DRIVEN.
