Go Big or
Go Home
RYAN SULLIVAN
March 28, 2022
Ryan Sullivan began working at his Grandfather Mike Mueller’s transmission shop at age 16. It was a job that he fell in love with. Working on cars and getting his hands dirty fulfills him. It’s hard work, heavy components and mechanical differences from one car to another. It requires skills and knowledge that his Grandfather Mike has willingly taught him. Not only has Mike taught Ryan about transmissions and auto mechanics but he’s mentored him in the art of racing.
Just like at his job, Ryan works hard at racing. It took him seven years to win a championship in a Legends car. Those were seven years of him not only growing and developing as a racer, but as a human. Ryan started racing Legends at age 12 after learning the fundamentals in go-karts since age five. He credits seat time as the key to his success as a racer. He focuses on learning his car, how to race the track and his competitors. His motto is go big or go home. If you’re not going to do it one hundred percent, don’t even show up.
Ryan hopes to move up to the pro levels of dirt Legends competition in the near future. His sights are on Outlaw sprint car racing, but realizes the talent and money racing at that level requires. Someday he might take over the transmission shop from his Grandpa Mike. It’s a job he loves and it inspires him daily.
